Welcome to Voluntary Centre Services

Urban Challenge Ltd delivers a range of services to the community and voluntary sector across West Lincolnshire through Voluntary Centre Services based in Lincoln, North Kesteven and West Lindsey.
These services include training, support for community groups and volunteer involving organisations, local forums, a CRB checking service and direct volunteering brokerage.
Further information on each of the services can be found under the relevant sections of this website.

You can search for volunteering opportunities straight away on the national volunteering website, 'Do-it'. Just type your postcode in the box on the right and click search.

The Department of Health has launched ‘Responders to Warmth’ (R2W), a scheme to combat fuel poverty and help vulnerable people, who are suffering ill health, to cope through the winter. Read more details.

Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation

We are delighted to announce that all our VCS offices have been awarded the Volunteering England Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation for a further 3 years, until July 2014. This means that our network of Volunteer Centres will continue to offer you excellent services for all of your volunteering needs, to prescribed national standards. South Lincolnshire CVS also achieved their accreditation alongside Urban Challenge, meaning that Lincolnshire continues to have a strong network of nationally recognised Volunteer Centres.

Message from Nev Jackson Chair of Urban Challenge – "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ben Barley as Acting Chief Executive with effect from Monday 13th February 2012. "

Volunteering in Lincolnshire

We would like to draw your attention to two new reports now available on the website highlighting the significant impact of Volunteering in Lincolnshire:

The Valuing Volunteering report, recently produced by Urban Challenge, focuses on volunteering across the west area of Lincolnshire, supported by our VCS services.

The Volunteer Centres Lincolnshire impact sheet, jointly produced by Volunteer Centres Lincolnshire, demonstrates our combined impact across the whole of the county.

Both can be found by clicking here or by going to 'Valuing Volunteering report' listed in the 'Events and Information' menu.
